As a hillwalker and heart rate monitor owner I am interested in the levels of average/peak heart rate that recruits work at on the 30 mile selection test, and what sort of pace, eg steady walk/jog downhill etc (and similar info for speed marching). For example on 5-6hr days hillwalking at a steady walk with weight carried kept at a minimum (less than 20lb) I find my average heart rate is about 50-60% of MHR, peaking at 75%.
Also do you have any advice on avoiding the dreaded DOMs if drawn into a big day out with not a lot of hillwalking leading up to it?
Thanks

Hill walk is a tough task and complicated work out if took some weight. Hill walking consumes more energy and person fell tired after some steps. Upward walk is not easy task. It need full body concentration and high level of calories. Heart rate increased in the begging walk and then going to slow with the passage of time. Mostly time people use heart monitor machines and take view on heart working.
